Riptide

Inspired from a recent trip to Chincoteague Island for the 100th Annual Pony Swim, I created this portrait painting of Surfer's Riptide, a 2009 Chincoteague stallion. To see him in person was breathtaking and I tried to capture the mystery and power of this beautiful chestnut with his flowing flaxen mane and forelock.  A 16"x16", 3/4" in deep with finished sides, original acrylic on canvas.
